Online Cricket:Last pair sees the end of the day.
Number 10 & 11 batsmen of West Indies saved their team from defeate. Pair of Fidel Edwards and Daren Powell survived final 36 minutes of the 2nd test match to maintain the 1-0 lead in the series. Chasing the target of 503 started well, RR Sarwan and S Chanderpaul made 106 and 55 respectively before WI falling at 370/9. England bowlers bowled well to make the series level but in vain, particularly veteran bowler Andrew Flintoff bowled with limping 12 over spell to see his team home. Final day started after rain interrupted the game for 1 hour and 15 min.
Online Cricket:Dhoni & Co. leave for tough series.
Indian team led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni had left to the New Zealand tour which will be different series compared to other series. It will be first time for captain himself to play in Kiwi conditions. India was terribly beaten in both the tests and one day formats with 2-0 and 5-2 respectively in their previous visit in 2002-03. Only five players in present Squad that is touring New Zealand Series had the weather experience (Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh and Zaheer Khan). On other hand black caps skipper said that India will find easier this time, also added that pitches were eased out after their previous tour and become flatter. Vettori added that he was very excited for the series which gives his team a good chance to test his young team’s skills.
